#1 Best Iphone Apps – Google App Ok lets start here with probably the most obvious google application yet so many people havent got it! Whats great about the Google App for iphone apart from the fact thats its free is the ability to search, voice control and the addition of pretty much all the Google apps. The app is extremely robust and can be downloaded from m.google.com/search Cost $0.00 Best Iphone Apps – Google App Supported Phones by Feature Check out all the features…. I think Google has already demonstrated its power so ill leave it at that for this iphone app, apart from to say it remembers all your searchers so is extremely handy to go back to when your searching for the same terms on multiple visits, a real time saver…. #2 Best Iphone App – Google Reeder (Yes that’s how its Spelt!) Now before you say, “Another Google App!” there is method here in my madness. Google reader is an awesome tool and you will know I use it every day to keep current in various markets, you can visit and watch a great video explaining the google reader process here . However I hold my hands up and admit that using Google reader on the Iphone is a little awkward and clumsy at best. The Reeder app is the best iphone app to truly enjoy the experience when your mobile, in contrast its truly a joy to work with, you can synchronize everything on your desktop PC google reader account and it will seamlessly update on this application. But wait here is the clincher…Check Out The Share Functions So immediately I hope you can see the benefits here find something you want to share with your Google buddies two touches and done… maybe bookmark on delicious for later or maybe you would like to share it with all your friends on Twitter…..Straight up from your Iphone…Awesome. ( notice the small Instapaper Icon! I’m getting to that. ) If you already see the benefit of Google Reader then this applications ease of use alone will make it a no brainer purchase. C”mon $2.99… There is a new version being worked on as we speak Reeder 2 and it will according to the app developer be available as a free upgrade to everyone who has purchased Google Reeder. Now before we move on to the final of my 3 best iphone apps I wanted to talk to all you marketers out there who are reading this post and wondering how you could use these applications to maximum your IPA (income producing activites) in your standing up time. #3 Best Iphone App – The Clincher! Instapaper for Iphone Earlier I mentioned finding content using google reader (seriously watch this google reader video ). We then go Mobile and share this content using the Google Reeder App. Totally mobile and yet still serving your market. Now here comes am awesome strategy to seriously maximize your time whilst out and about, in fact, I find myself using this at home sat next to a desktop and two laptops, its just that good! Instapaper What the hell does it actually do? Well firstly you can go and get a free account over at www.instapaper.com . When your perusing through your google reeder account and come across a great post or share, tapping the button on your iphone and bringing up the action menu calls up the menu in the earlier picture. Remember the small I instapaper icon, well now when you have an account if the post or note is a little too long to consume whilst your out and about, or your scanning through lots of posts in your market, tap the share button and the entire post will be placed into your instapaper account for reading later….. And?…. Here is the ‘piece de la resistance’ So we spend ten fifteen minutes waiting to pick up the kids from school, hop onto your Instapaper app and read up on that long post you just didn’t have time for this morning. There are 2 versions of Instapaper Free and Pro, either one gives you a really great user experience. On the developers blog Marco Arment writes “There are very few differences between Free and Pro. This is intentional, for one simple reason: I don’t want the free version to suck. I don’t impose any arbitrary limits on it, and I don’t mind if you use it forever. I want you to pay for Instapaper Pro if you think Instapaper, in general, is worth the money. This won’t be the case for all users, and I respect that. I’d rather have you using my product than not, even if you don’t pay for it” If only all developers thought like Marco. If you like what your reading and you decide you would like to share a section of the article with your audience, ( this is the Sauce ladies and gentlemen ) you can select a portion of the article using the usual iphone copy function and then choose to share it Check out the Share functions guys and girls….. you can email the selection you have chosen straight to your blog along with the authors link, you can email the full article to tumblr or post a shortened link straight to Twitter, Twitterlator…..but think bigger! With a little more set up and another secret sauce application you can send the article straight to several web 2.0 properties along with ….. your comment! Now your comment could ( and probably should if your a serious marketer) include a backlink back to your content along with some appropriate keyword. If you set up your distribution mechanism correctly this could be very beneficial to you AND the original author, your passing along his link along with some good comment of your own. Awesome stuff!
